Beni-Ocean & One Ocean Empire PLT Trains Students from China in Conservation!

Seven students and two dedicated leaders from China embarked on a life-changing journey to One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre, thanks to a collaboration between Beni-Ocean and One Ocean Empire PLT. For many of these students, this was their very first time leaving their country—and their first time experiencing life beyond the bustling energy of their home cities. Surprisingly, everyone of them have very different lifestyles and personalities. Some of them love to watch Anime, some of them love reading Novels, and some of them are increadibly versed in their studies. This Unique experience really changes the course of their training and experience, because each one of them requires a different approach in their teaching and also care.

Over the course of 6 exciting and immersive days, the students participated in hands-on marine conservation training, learning about coral reef protection, sustainable ecosystems involving mangroves, coastal biodiversity with the help of Kaeden, and the delicate balance that keeps our oceans alive. The program offered not only scientific insights but also personal transformation to the students and it was more or less 'Life Changing'

But by the end of the week, everything changed. Some of the students told their teacher that their life has changed a little. their skin, their skills, and their mindset and experience left a little spark of confidence in themselves which they will carry in their future endevours.

2 Leaders, Leslie & Esther (2 Female at the far right of the Image) lead the group increadibly well. Providing them a personal space for them to grow instead of interfearing with the students activities, the relationship they formed with the students allowed them to have a mentor & mentee relationship unlike other educational programmes where the teacher and leader are constantly interupting the students learning process. Leslie & Esther also gave feedback to their students and One Ocean Empire to further improve their skills and also the deliverability of the knowledge + enhancing the student experience.

From City Lights to Ocean Depths

As I explained earlier, these students had never been exposed to an environment as raw and natural as One Ocean's protected island area. The salt air, clear waters, and slow rhythm of island life offered a refreshing contrast to their daily routines—and an entirely new perspective on the planet they share.

The training program included:

• Coral reef Identification and natural restoration techniques

• Study of Mangrove Ecosystems

• Marine waste analysis and Cleanup efforts

• Visiting Local Sites & learning about their livelihoods

• Hiking & Forest walks

• Wildlife identification

• End-of-the-day Review & feedback Sessions

A Deep Impact Beyond the Island

For many participants, the transformation didn’t end when the program did. Several Students talked about how the experience transformed their physical condition & mental toughness. Bobby (one of our students) told one of his teachers that his parents told him he slimmed down a little. Eli (one of our students) told us that his parents told him he looked like a post-metamorphosis person (basically implying that he changed his appearence)

Change (also our students) told his instructor that visiting a foreign country, making a lasting friend there, learning about nature and how we protect it, made it a special experienc for him.

Looking Ahead

This successful training marks just the beginning of a larger movement. As part of its ongoing international outreach efforts, Beni-Ocean plans to continue offering these immersive conservation programs to more students from around the world, helping bridge cultures and shaping the younger generation to become better individuals with values that will ultimately determine the state of their lives.
