Location & How to get Here

Guests will meet at Kuala Abai Beach/Jetty Kastam Lama, the departure point for the One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre.

From Kota Kinabalu City, the journey takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours by road, passing through scenic coastal and rural landscapes of Sabah. We recommend leaving early to enjoy a smooth ride and to arrive on time for the boat transfer.

Private transfers or taxis can be arranged for convenience (contact our team), and ample parking is available at the beach.

Day 1: Arrival & Dive Prep

08:00 AM – Arrival & Boat Transfer
Meet at Kuala Abai Beach for a scenic 15 minute boat ride to One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre, Pulau Usukan.
Welcome briefing and introduction to the marine ecology program

09:00 AM – Breakfast & Orientation
Enjoy a hearty breakfast while preparing for the day’s activities

10:00 AM – Marine Ecology Classroom Session
3-hour interactive classroom session covering local ecosystems, coral health, and sustainable diving practices

01:00 PM – Lunch
Delicious island lunch before your first ecological dive

02:00 PM – First Training Dive (Field Dive)
Explore vibrant coral reefs and marine habitats. Learn to identify key species and understand ecological interactions with guidance from your instructor

06:00 PM – Dinner & Leisure & Overnight at One Ocean Nature Conservation Centre
Relax with a dinner on the island. Optional evening swim or sunset photography

Day 2: Dive Adventure & Departure

Start the day with a nutritious breakfast

08:00 AM – Second Training Dive (Field Dive)
Morning dive focused on ecological observation, reef monitoring, and underwater conservation techniques

11:00 AM – Post-Dive Snack & Certificate Presentation
Receive your SSI eCertificate & eCard. Debrief session to review observations and knowledge gained

12:30 PM – Lunch
Enjoy your final meal on the island

01:30 PM – Free Time & Packing
Leisure time to relax, take photos, or shop for souvenirs

03:00 PM – Boat Transfer & Departure
Return to Kuala Abai Beach, leaving with enhanced diving skills, ecological knowledge, and a 1OE T-shirt
